5/14-16/14

This weekend was good. I spent half of it with one pair of grandparents and the other half with the other pair of grandparents. The first pair was just a spend saturday with since I don't see them often. The other pair was do yard work because they need help with the yard work. On my way to my second pair's house, I stopped at a garage sale and picked up a Panasonic 3DO for $2. I was really happy. Obviously the lady that sold it to me had no idea what it was. She probably thought it was some kind of CD or DVD player. It doesn't work as of right now, but even for parts it's worth over $30. But I'm not going to get rid of it so fast. I'm going to talk with my one friend who really knows tech and see if he and I can fix it. Later.

5/18/14

Today was good. I went to church with my parents. I played some Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Did a little yard work. Helped my grandparents with their bed. It's kind of funny, in the morning our internet was down. That was the main reason I played videogames, because I play videogames when the internet is down. Hear that Microsoft, I play videogames when I can't access the internet. I wouldn't be able to use the original XBOX ONE if you went through with the always online crap. Later.

5/16/14

Today was pretty good. I went to work. Today we finished engine disassembly and assembly. It was fun. Unfortunately I hit the ratchet a little hard a couple to many times. Got me a nice bruise on the palm of my hand. It's a little sore. I also went out to dinner with my family. That was fun, and tasty. I do have some bad news though. I ordered Pac-Man Fever in the mail and the record came today. Unfortunately the person who shipped it had no idea how to ship a vinyl record and it came broken. 10 layers of gift bag tissue paper and packing tape does not make for a protective way to ship a fragile vinyl record. You need buble wrap, card board, "do not bend" and "fragile" stamps. Really sucks. Now I need to either get a replacement or a refund. Later.

5/15/14

Today was great. Today I took an engine apart as part of my training. This was fun. We talked about what each part does, how it works, and all the other fun science behind it. We took a complete engine apart, all the way down to the engine block. Here's a funny story from today. To take apart the engines, we did it in teams of 2 or 3. There was one group of all women and they took the longest to finish. They were having trouble loosening some of the bolts. The instructor had to help them. One woman said "I am an independent woman, but this is the one thing I need a man for." How she said it added to the funny. Later.

5/13/14

Yeah, sorry about missing yesterday. I just started an internship with an automaker. Since I'll be working with rather proprietary processes, I don't think I can really talk about what I did during the day. Sorry guys, I'll pretty much be stopping for a while. I can tell you that yesterday was my first day and I did safety training all day and today I did a whole lot of sitting around doing nothing. When I wasn't doing nothing, I was getting a plant tour. Really productive, I know. Later.

5/11/14

Today was pretty good. I woke up early and went to church with my family. Today being mothers day was a day where my family goes out to a nice lunch/dinner. But before food, we went to costco to get picture frames for my grandma. After costco, we went to my grandparents. We fixed their bed, fixed their phones, and basically that. Dinner was good. We got a little lost on the way there. Nothing to eventful, just lost. Then we went to dinner. If things were more eventful, I would do a big blog about it. But things more pretty low key. We talked about asparagus. Basically my day. Later.

5/9/14

Today was great. I wrote a review for The Amazing Spiderman 2, but fair warning, it's spoileriffic. I had an orthodontist appointment. Went well. My brother and I went to a Mongolian Buffet. It was really good. I went grocery shopping at Costco. I hung out with my brother. That was fun. Later.

5/8/14

Today was nice. I went to see my grandparents. We returned the Comcast stuff, went to T.G.I. Friday's, and went to see The Amazing Spiderman 2. I will probably do a blog on it, but not when I am almost falling asleep. I also uploaded the second lets play video of zeldamaster93 and I. Later.

5/7/14

Today was fine. I went to a funeral for a close family friend's dad. After that I went to my mom's school and did an egg drop lab with her class. They really liked it. I liked it. My internet is slowed to a crawl so I can't stay long. Later.

5/6/14

Today was pretty good. I uploaded my 100th Dailymotion video special. I saw my grandparents and made sure the guy that installed the cable did it right. Turns out Comcast gave us a 10 year old modem, a modem they said was new. Never get Comcast people. Comcast is absolutely terrible. I went to the visitation for my friends' grandpa. I didn't know him well, only really meeting him 5 or so times, but I was there for moral support for my friends. After the visitation I went back to my grandparents. Went out to dinner with them. Afterwards I brought their nes back to my house, because they never use it, my bother and cousin don't care about it, and I'm sure it was only a matter of time before they said "this is just taking up space," and either threw them away or sold them for peanuts. I checked their value on price charting and the games alone are worth $220. Later.

5/5/14

Happy revenge of the fifth. Today I got my drivers license renewed. Spent about an hour and a half at the DMV. I was able to edit most of my 100th dailymotion video in that time which was nice. I played some Oddworld. I bought some stuff for a science experiment I'm doing with my mom's school. I watched The Godfather with my brother. Later

5/4/14, May the Fourth be with you

Hey there Star Wars fans; happy Star Wars day. Today I would like to have done a real Star Wars celebration by watching the movies in the machete order; 4, 5, 2, 3, 6. Even though episode 1 may be my favorite movie, I only have it on VHS and I currently don't have my VCR connected to my TV. However, I have 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 on DVD so I could watch them on my PS3, 360, or laptop, and since I have the option to watch the movies required for machete order, I would try machete order.

However, I didn't get to watch any Star Wars movies today. I was really busy. First I went to church, nothing out of the ordinary there. Then I fixed my neighbor's snow blower. The last time she used it, the ripcord broke and it retracted into the snow blower. She said she would get it serviced, but after getting me my new job, I told her I could try to fix it. My brother and I basically took the snow blower apart and rethreaded the ripcord. That took about 2 hours. I thought that would be it, but then my grandparents had problems with their phone again, so I went out to their house, looked at the phone modem, called Comcast tech support, and told them "fix this right now or we're switching to WOW." This was the 5th time in a month that they've had issues with their phone. They've had 4 different techs come out to "fix" the issue, every time it lasted 4 days at most. The guy at Comcast tech support did his magic and said "we'll need to send a technician out we can have one out to you first thing in the morning." I said "no, you've screwed us enough, and we're done. This would be the 5th tech to come out to fix this problem, and if it wasn't fixed the other 4 times, why should I believe that it'll get fixed this time?" He said "I'm sorry for your inconvenience" and I told him "no, this is not 'just an inconvenience,' my grandma has serious health issues and relies on her phone to get info from her doctors. We're not going to take this anymore. We're leaving." He tried to talk me into staying, but I just said "no, Comcast screwed us, and we're not going to take it. You've lost a customer. Tell your higher ups that Comcast wasn't able to fix a problem after 5 different times, and that's why you lost our business. Good day sir." After that ordeal, I called WOW and set my grandpa up with their cable and phone service. They tried to upsell me on internet, HD DVR, multiple HD receiver boxes, but I stood firm on what we wanted. The price was a little larger than what he's paying for Comcast, but in the cable duopoly in his townhouse complex between WOW and Comcast, a higher price is worth the competent service.

For the longest time, Comcast had a Monopoly in his townhouse complex, and people really didn't like Comcast. About 4 years ago the townhouse complex allowed WOW to service the complex. He switched almost immediately because he didn't like Comcast and my family likes our WOW service. They were great to him for 3 1/2 years, then they raised his prices by like $50. He switched back to Comcast because they gave him a much better deal. That lasted about 1 month, then he started having troubles with the phone service. Now starts our previously mentioned ordeal with the phone service. We've never had issues with WOW service, just it got expensive. Now the decision is "reliable service for a higher price," or "terrible and unreliable service for a low price." We went with "reliable service for a higher price." Later.

5/1-3/14, fun with friends

I had a fair amount of fun these past couple of days. I helped my grandparents out with Comcast and their phone. Comcast was really screwing them over. Their phone wasn't working, and my grandma needs her phone for medical reasons. Without her phone, Comcast put her life in jeopardy. Throughout the ordeal, my grandpa got $80 in credit and 6 months of starz premium movie channel. They had 4 techs over 4 different times. Turns out their modem was bad. The first 3 didn't find out it was the modem, and the fourth likely wouldn't if I didn't call tech support on my cell phone prior to and have them do their "send a signal to find out what's wrong" to find out we need to get their modem replaced. Somehow the new modem didn't get activated properly, but when I called to activate it they said it was activated. The last tech fixed the activation issue. Comcast is on a 1 year probation as far as I'm concerned. They screw up one more time in a year, and I mean anything, even a misplaced charge on their bill, and we're switching them to our cable provider.

But enough about the incompetence of Comcast. Time to talk about my fun time with friends. On Thursday I hung out with mskate. She was doing well. We had fun. On Friday I hung out with zeldamaster93. We made some lets play videos of Ms. Splosion Man, Jetpack Joyride, and Ducktales Remastered. It was a fun time. Then on Saturday I did a google plus video hangout with my toonami friends for the premier of attack on titan. Later.
