3/29-30/25

This weekend was a busy day followed by a calm day. Saturday was a day of out and doing things. With my dad starting to feel better and being a big Looney Tunes fan I had the great idea to go see The Day the Earth Blew Up with him before going to see my grandma and maybe going out to Chuck E Cheese with some family, and Mom was going to take the 2 hours it would take to see Looney Tunes as a time to just take a big break. However, Dad was having some problems and wasn't able to go to the movies with me. In the alternative Mom and I went to Chuck E Cheese and had a stuffed crust pizza with ham, pepperoni, and pineapple using the 50% off coupon my bronze membership gave me this week. She enjoyed it, and the price was good considering this would have been $30 without the coupon. While we were there we also played games. I played the spongebob coin pusher and unfortunately didn't really win. We played skiball and was fun. We played wheel of fortune and found someone left 13 credits on the machine, so we just kept playing double play over and over again, and one game we won 51 tickets after getting 1000 points and picking a letter that had 4 instances, and later picking the right word. I also played the Pink Panther escape game and I was able to win twice, 50 tickets each time. We also rode the ride simulator thing, which was a great use of the points since it's a nice little ride simulator for like 5 minutes and it only costs 1 point. I also used 320 of our tickets on trinkets for Easter egg prizes (mskate is doing a fund raiser where we set-up an Easter egg hunt for people in their front yard the night before for a fee). After about 1.5 hours at chuck e cheese we went to my grandma's memory care facility and watched Out of the Box on Disney Plus while we fed her dinner. Out of the Box was a great choice since she likes to watch shows with kids and it's a show that's just kids playing pretend. After about 2 hours with her I went to mskate's parents and watched some figure skaters since it's the world championship going on right now and her family likes figure skating whereas I'm indifferent. After that I just went home.

Today was a very calm day. I went to church and that was kind of it for the day. After mass I dug out the Donald Duck Numeo we got for my grandma for her birthday, we're going to give it to her now since she likes her "babies" (stuffed animals, particularly little Disney Numeo guys) and we don't know how much longer she has left. I cleaned up some things, throwing out some garbage, collecting expired medicine to take to a collection site, and made some individual servings of snack foods for lunch. I also made one of my animal crossing lego sets. I also spent most of the day watching Tiger and Bunny, an interesting anime series a friend recommended to me 10+ years ago in college that has been sitting in my backlog since and with it leaving hulu at the end of the month I decided to try to watch it before it leaves. I'll make a review of it once I finish it since I only have 3 episodes left and 1 day left. I also finished writing my blog about my Big 10 Women's Gymnastics adventure, and bought the hotel for next weekend when we're going to the Big 10 Men's Gymnastics finals, and made sure all our bills were fully paid. Later.

3/27/25 (A Religious Experience)

Before I get to today, an update with my grandma. The past 2 days have been VERY difficult. Her dementia is making it hard to breath in her throat (it's getting to the brain stem) and it was hard for her to eat things, so it was time to go on hospice. She was able to go into a private room because we weren't sure if she was going to die soon. I drove up to see her and spend some time and say my goodbyes. About 3 hours with her and then went home. Very emotional. Then the next day she went back to her assisted living facility, and I went back up to see her again for some hours, this time making sure to set-up the spare roku in her room so whoever was with her could put on some streaming app we have since all she gets are local channels. It was another good visit, just spending time with her, but now she seems a bit more stable. The thing though is she can't hold a conversation, she says some things but she's not really all there. This week mskate is staying with her parents because she's looking over grandma and watching skating with her parents, meaning that I have the house to myself.

Now for today. This morning is when things started unexpectedly with what I can only describe as a religious vision. About an hour before I normally wake up I was woken up by a younger woman dressed in white calling me by name and shaking my leg (remember, I'm in the house alone). I wake up a little and see her, then wake up fully and she disappears but I can still hear her in a voice that is a little familiar, as she tells me to go back to sleep and I'm able to see her again. This is when I realize that this was my grandma, young and whole, I recognized her from all the pictures that I did for major videos that I did for her, at about the same age as me right now. I won't go into details here and now (that will be for a different project), but it was really great. She told me how much she appreciates all that people are doing for her and have done for her, about how she was glad to see so many of our major life events and even though she really wanted it is OK with not being able to experience great-grandmotherhood and that her best friends / my grandparent figures will be able to experience it for her, settle out some of the frictions we've had and get closure there, and then just go through ALL the stories that she and grandpa would tell me in chronological order, and then I saw her with my grandpa when he was young and able bodies, and my uncle who was now walking (he was in a wheel chair his entire life), and my older sibling who my mom lost in pregnancy; everyone was whole. Really really touching and special moment for me that I'm glad I was able to have uninterrupted, since when I told mskate about it she was all "yeah I would have interrupted you.

I ended up going to work a little later than normal because I had things I had to get ready for the day with and this went a little longer than my normal morning routine, but it was all good just meant I had to stay at work a little longer. After work I watched Dawson's Creek, ate some of my chili, and went to chuck e cheese to use our fun pass. I also wrote most of my women's big 10 gymnastics competition blog, just need to put the pictures in, but I'll get to that tomorrow. Later.

3/25/25

So I don't know if it was just my crazy weekend catching up to me, or the somewhat restless night last night, or that I didn't eat as much as I normally do and my medication didn't like that, or some combination of all that, but I came home beat and kind of napped for like an hour (I don't think I actually slept, but I did kind of dream). I normally make dinner but because I was so tired I asked mskate to make dinner. I watched Dawson's Creek as I try to to finish the series before it expires at the end of the month. I cleaned up some of the house, throwing out some of the garbage that had been collecting and finding places for other things. I need to make my gymnastics blog since it was pretty cool, but I'm just too tired. Later.

3/20-23/25 My Crazy Weekend

OK, so I'm not doing my normal content this weekend because I'm just too tired after being too busy. My dad and grandma are both in the hospital and both are very concerning. My dad had some blood problems and got rushed to the hospital and they can't really figure out what the problem is; he's stable but we don't know what the problem is. Then on Thursday my grandma went to the hospital with sepsis from a bed sore she's been fighting for like 7 months, which meant that I was on call to leave work in case this was the end. Mskate went to the hospital to help my mom with all the craziness mid-day and then I went to the hospital after work and took a personal day on Friday because I needed to be there. Once I got to the hospital she was in the emergency room and that was kind of crazy. When I got there she lit up seeing me, so that made everyone kind of happy. With the dementia there's a lot that we try to get her to remember and she just doesn't, so I was telling her some of the stories that she told me all the time. One of them was when we went to a family reunion and I didn't shut up the entire drive. I said "and you know what happened next, and you know what happened next, and you know what happened next, and you know what happened next" (because that's what I kept saying between recalling what happened in cartoons that I watched) and she said "and it kept going on and on and on," which we all took to mean that she remembered that story. She got to a room around 7PM and we got some liquid snack foods from nursing since dinner was over and she hadn't eaten all day. Just craziness. Mskate and I stayed the night with her parents since they have a guest room.

Friday mskate and I went to see my dad in the morning while mom went to see grandma. They unfortunately are at different hospitals which makes being with both difficult. Dad was in pretty good spirits, but just frustrated that his primary doctor and backup doctor was on vacation and nothing was happening because it was the weekend. We had about a 2 hour visit. After that IRA and I went to see the day the earth blew up, which you can hear my review here. After that mskate and I went to see grandma and we fed her dinner. I found that she doesn't get the channels she likes; educational children's channels (PBS kids and disney junior type channels), the gameshow rerun channel, or metv toons. She does get the hallmark channel and cartoon network/adult swim (which is the west coast feed meaning that adult swim starts much later than on our east coast feed), so we'd watch cartoon network during the day and hallmark channel at night. She's not much of a TV watcher and never was, but we like to put something on to keep her stimulated and we need to put on something that won't be scary or offensive, which is kids cartoons and hallmark movies in this case. We also fed her as much dinner as she could stand. Once we got back to mskate's parents IRA and I watched some Cobra Kai since we like to do that together.

Saturday was kind of wild. Mskate and I went to see grandma in the morning and we took both of our cars, so mskate went right to the hospital and I did a little grocery shopping, looking for shelf stable foods we could leave in the room for visitors to try to feed her (since we're at a point of "any calorie replacement please"). I picked up strawberry-apple sauce, applesauce squeeze tubes, nutella, dove chocolate, saunder's chocolate coated caramels, a 3 musketeers bar, and a botte of coke. We also wanted to get some full sugar puding but the grocery store I went to only had the kind that needed refrigeration. When I got there she was still eating breakfast, so I was able to get her to eat all of the eggs and some of the meat. We had a good little visit for a couple hours. After that we went home and got ready for our next night of events, the big 10 women's gymnastics competition at UofM. I'll go into more details when I write the full blog, but it was a pretty good event. We saw 4 perfect 10s, and saw olympians. On the way there I had something REALLY scary happen though, as I was driving I noticed my index finger didn't have my grandpa's ring on it. I knew I had it when I left the house, but my rings had been a little loose the past couple of days so it must have fallen off somewhere between the stairs landing and in the car. We looked when we got out but it wasn't anywhere we could see. I get home and go through the recycling bin and garbage cans to make sure it didn't end up in there, and it didn't so partial relief, but it wasn't on the stairs, in the garage, or the cupboard, or bin next to the stairs, or anywhere.

Sunday we went to church and that went well. After church I tore the car apart looking everywhere. I was worried it might have fallen down the vent that gives climate to the back seat but then I saw my fingers wouldn't fit in the holes so my ring definitely wouldn't. After getting rid of all the garbage and moving the seat all the way back I see something kind of shiny under the track the seat adjustment rides on, and it was my grandpa's ring. I yelled for joy with that. Mskate and I also got our pictures taken for the church directory since we do coffee and donuts every 2nd Sunday of the month (it's kind of funny, the donut groups are the ushers, the women's group, the nights of columbus, and then there's the donut group of pokematic, mskate, and one other parishioner). Later in the evening we went to chuck e cheese because we have the 2 month pass. Mskate is doing a fund raiser this year where people pay to get easter eggs set up in their yard, and we decided we were going to use some of our 3600 tickets to get prizes for the eggs since CEC doesn't really have prizes that appeal to us as 30 something adults. It was kind of busy so we focused on quick thrills today. With the prizes we got some wind up airplanes, smily face rings, and butterfly erasers. It ended up being like 1750 tickets, but that's OK it's egg treats we didn't have to "spend money on." Now I'm just relaxing and watching Sunday night cartoons like I've been doing for the past 13 or so years. Later.

3/19/25

When I got home I had some energy to do things. I went to the bank and got a $2 bill for a friend's 2 year old son's birthday card. I did some cleaning, organizing stuff in the car and throwing out some old food. Mskate and I had bratwurst and broccoli for dinner. We went to chuck e cheese and there was a free 500 ticket offer on the app, so we got 500 tickets on our account. At the end of the day we had 3600 tickets on our account. This is pretty good since mskate is going to do an Easter egg fundraiser and we need some things for the eggs, and we can get a lot of trinkets from there for filling eggs, and as grown adults there are not a lot of prizes that interest us so we're always looking for other things we could spend the tickets on. Today instead of working on my stuff I made the updated version of mskate's book since kindle isn't letting us use mobi files anymore. I watched the latest episode of Doc and started watching Dawson's Creek again before it expires. Been some years since I last watched it, but I'm remembering everything. Yay. Later.

3/18/25

Today I watched some episodes of The Rookie and cleaned out some junk in the kitchen. The main thing I did was watch and review Looney Tunes the Day the Earth Blew up. As you can see from previous posts, I've been busy over the weekend and missed opening weekend, but I had $5 ticket Tuesday and I said "I need to support 2D theatrical animation." Hopefully the movie stays in theaters longer than a week because it's great. You can listen to my review here. Later.

3/17/25 (Happy St. Patrick's Day)

Well it's St. Patrick's Day, a day that I didn't celebrate today. As discussed in my weekend blog (that I got out today), I celebrated it on Friday and Sunday, and got a lot of it on Saturday. I even forgot to wear green, but I had done it so much over the weekend that I don't feel like I failed my Irish American heritage. Not too much done today, I cleaned up some more of the house, and got the blog out, and watched some movies while doing my Monday monkey work. One thing I did was some experimenting with leaving the roku set to a live streaming channel to see if it'll stay on with the TV turned off, and it will. This is a thing for my grandma since she doesn't know how to use the TV and all the workers at her assisted living will do is turn the TV on and off, not change the channels (I understand, they have more important things to do than pick out TV programming for a resident). She doesn't get cable in her room (at least without paying extra and she doesn't "like TV enough" to justify the cost), but she does get all the OTA channels in our market and we get a lot of channels, including Buzzer (an old gameshow channel), MeTV Toons (old cartoons), and PBS kids (a 24 hour educational kids show channel), and while those are good (we've been leaving it on the gameshow channel since we knew it would always be "wholesome fun" and not too confusing, and her favorite show was wheel of fortune), she REALLY likes Disney Junior. We have Disney Plus and it now has "live streaming channels" (not "Disney Junior proper" but it does have "Disney Playtime" which is a bunch of preschool shows), and after buying a new smart TV we have an extra 1080p roku that we could use for projects. Unfortunately disney plus doesn't work well on my 8 year old roku limited, but sling works on it and we get nick jr with our subscription, so we're going to try setting that up for her. Later.

3/16/25

Today was pretty low key. Mskate and I went to church and we had a visiting priest. After mass we had my brother's birthday celebration. I wrapped up the remaining special beers that I bought last year when mskate and I went to the other side of the state for her catechism training. I wrapped them up and a diet coke for a gag. We went to a brewery by my parents and had lunch with everyone. I had a corned beef sandwich since I probably won't get one tomorrow (not sure where I'd get one where I live), and a BLT cocktail (burbon, lemon, and tonic). It was pretty good, but I was expecting a little more sour and less bitter. I asked for more lemon and it made it better. Bro really liked the beer and got a chuckle out of diet coke. After lunch we went to my parents house and did some cruise planning (which was a lot longer than we expected). We then went to my in-laws to see how Delilah (their dog) was doing since she had to have a little surgery about a week ago. I had a pork chop and mskate had sausage. I worked on writing my blog for the weekend, but I don't think I'll get it out before I go to bed since there's quite a lot to write and I don't know if I'll get it done in the next half an hour. I cleaned out some stuff of the kitchen. Later.

3/15/25 (A Pre-Gymanstics Blog Blog)

Very busy day today. Mskate and I were going to university of michigan to watch the men's gymnastics meet, and beforehand we went to Blimpy Burger and met up with mbinski. The burger was really good. After lunch we went to Joan Fabrics to shop the going out of business sales, and then since Party City was close by we went there as well. The gymnastics was great, but I'll get to that when I write the blog. After the men's meet mskate jokingly said "hey let's go to the women's meet, it's only like another 20 minutes," but I took it as an actual suggestion and we went to the meet. It was also a good meet, again, details when I write the actual blog. We got home and I cleaned up some stuff and watched an episode of The Rookie. I'm really tired so I'll probably be going to bed soon. Later.

3/14/25

I didn't watch a cartoon with breakfast this morning because I had to get to work a little early so I could leave a little early (my job is flex time, I just have to work 8 hours in a row, doesn't matter when, during covid there were times when I had to go in at 4 AM and then was able to go home at noon). My one coworker was all "what are you doing here at 6AM, you always come in at 6:30." I had to go in early because we were doing a anointing of the sick/last rites with my grandma, with a bit of a St. Patrick's Day party and birthday party since my brother was born on the 14th and St. Patrick's Day is on the 17th, and I brought my balloon animal stuff since I learned how to do basic animals when I was a kid. On the way to her memory care I read some chapters of Jerimiah. Mskate and I got there shortly after my mom, so we just spent some time with her. She likes to read but struggles with big words, but we found that toddler "cardboard page" books are a good speed for her, and we found a nice Winnie the Pooh book. She struggled some with the book though even though it's all small words. It's sad. I made her a giraffe hat and dog, and she liked them. Later in the night I made some balloon animals for the residents and put them in the dining area. Since it's a Friday in lent we had cheese pizza and cheese bread. There was also some promo where we got 2 bottles of ranch dressing. The anointing of the sick was a really good ceremony, we had prayers, we laid hands on my grandma (and I put my hand on her with my grandpa's rings, so he was there with us), we all gave her a crissum blessing and I wiped the excess crissum on my dry skin and it helped moisturize it. When we got home I did some cleaning, showered, and now I'm writing this. I don't think I'll be getting to to writing stuff for my october blog today, too tired. Later.

3/13/25

Once again Disney Plus didn't want to load so I watched 2 Stupid Dogs off tablo. Today with cleaning I worked on cleaning the dining room table and kitchen, the house is really opening up. I watched an episode of The Rookie, and I gotta say I really like how it's approaching the whole "police controversy" of 2020/2021, addressing the complaints people have by saying "yes there are bad cops but it's not all." We didn't go to chuck e cheese tonight, which allowed more time for doing the projects. I got caught up on St. Dennis Medical which is good. I wrote most of the funeral portion of my fall blog, so soon I'm going to be at the Fall Festival portion, and soon I'll get it out. I also bought the dip on some stocks, so hopefully that comes out on top for me. I also had my last bowl of chili, so now I can make other things. Later.

3/12/25

Time got away from me, like once I got home I was did my lent cleaning and got caught up on memes real quickly during an episode of Doc, and worked on my October blog getting through Cedar Point and starting my grandpa's funeral all before 5:30, and made dinner no problem, but after chuck e cheese time just sped up, so that's why I'm late. Anyway, I had a chili for dinner and made mskate a kielbasa and potatoes. Shortly after dinner we went to chuck e cheese for the fun pass. When I played the tightrope unicycle game a toddler came up and wanted to play too, hitting the start button and trying to spin the unicycle wheel. She was too small to actually throw off my ability to control, but did throw off my concentration at the final obstacle. I did have to remind myself "you're a 31 year old man at a children's arcade, using a great deal promotion that costs you next to nothing in the end, and are just here for fun." Then with the quarterback challenge the game was in a "cycle through everything" mode; the 7-segment displays were going through all numbers, the running back targets were swinging in and out, the lights were going on and off, the football conveyor was indexing and not, and funniest of all every sound clip was playing in succession of probably where they are in the lookup table. Mskate did really well at the wheel of fortune game, winning 4 of the puzzles, and I did really well at the basketball game. When we got home I watched an episode of the Rookie and Night Court, and then I got kind of caught up in making commercial rants on reddit. Here they are, enjoy. Later.

3/11/25

A kind of calm day today. This morning disney plus wouldn't start (sometimes that happens) so instead of an episode of Goof troop I watched an episode of beetlejuice I recorded on my tablo from MeTV Toons. My grandma is doing poorly and so my mom is scheduling last rites for Friday, which is sad but at this point kind of expected. I dug out my balloon animal stuff to make some for her and the other residents at her memory care, and I made a couple test animals. The 15 year old balloons I had popped on first inflation, so I threw them out and opened my new bag from party city to make sure I still had it (which I do). Mskate and I went to chuck e cheese and it wasn't too busy today, and I won the jackpot of the unicycle game. I got to the "scary land" part of my October blog, which is coming along really well. I probably will end up putting a pause on that soon since mskate is getting enough photos scanned in to do the memorial video for my grandpa. I also had a bowl of my chili, not the best of my cheapskate "whatever meats, tomato sauces, and vegetables I have on hand" combinations, but still good enough. Later.

3/10/25

Some fun things today. Today instead of reading the bible I did my online ministry of a catholiccontriversy video about modern day false idols and how early Hebrews may have been confused in worshiping false gods through a modern context. I also uploaded my final "Tom Green on Amazon Prime video" video, a review of I Got a Mule and then put all the videos into a site page. Mskate and I also get buttons from Disney vacations and other things, and buttons won't work well on our pin board so I got one of my lanyards and hung it with our pin board to hang our buttons on. I also made a Jeriah nano block figure while watching Moonshiners and The Rookie. I also made a chili today to try to use up some of my sauces that are my base. Later.

3/9/25

Happy daylight savings time, spring forward was a little rough. This week was the week where mskate and I did coffee and donuts at church, so we basically rolled out of bed and went to get the donuts. We picked them up and went to the social hall, got the donuts all set up and made the coffee and tang. We left some things to set-up for our partner who goes to 11AM mass, but the maintenance guy decided to finish things up for us. Oh well. We went to mass and had a good time with God, and afterwards we served coffee and donuts to parishioners. After all that we went to BJs to get gas and diet coke. After BJs we went to Macy's because we have a gift card that needs to be used and after seeing a store with a going out of business sign we figured we need to use up the gift card soon. We got a cardboard page book for my grandma to read (she has dementia and likes to read things, but can't do too much so toddler books are good for her). After Macy's we went to Chuck E Cheese since we have the 2 month pass. Today I cleaned out my wife's car, folding the blankets and removing all the garbage and vacuuming the crumbs. For my "work on creative works" thing today I uploaded my review of Last One Laughing Canada. Between commercial breaks of Animation Domination I read my bible passages. Later.

3/8/25

OK, time for a very busy day. First thing first, I went to get my allergy shot. I got very far behind but now I'm all caught up, and having stayed over at the in-laws made it very easy to get there. Afterwards I watched some episodes of Cobra Kai with IRA before going to the party with my mom's best friend and her son's family. We drove about an hour and a half through the construction detour. We were the 2nd there. The son has a 6 month old baby, and she was kind of fascinated by me. When she noticed I was around she just fixated on me taking it all in. I don't know if it was my beard, hat with sunglasses on them, or my high viz jacket with a cartoon dinosaur on my shirt underneath, or some combination of all of it, but she always looked at me very inquisitively. Some times she reached out to me but then when I got close she recoiled, so it was like she wanted to see me and didn't. Later on she saw my rings (highschool, college, and grandpa), and I let her grab at them while I kept my fingers curled to make sure they didn't come off. Mskate was concerned they would fall off but I assured her they were on secure. Later on she was reaching for them again and I said "you can play with them when I can be sure you won't choke on them." We had pizza for lunch and I took on the task of figuring out the best topping combinations based on what everyone likes. Once the baby was taking a nap we played a game where we had to fill in the blank and try to match with someone else. Dad and I were neck and neck but then he won the "next point wins." The drive home was pretty tame, but when I got home I was quite tired. I did manage to do some cleaning, get a video out, and read my bible (though I'm getting this blog out the next day). Later.

3/6-7/25

Whoops, got really busy these last 2 days and now I'm writing this on my phone kind of like how I'd write entries on my ds browser and emailed to myself through hotmail. Thursday I did the cleaning of my house and reading the bible for real lent and wrote a lot with the September blog story. The thing that got away is mskate and I went to chuck e cheese and try to figure out what we're doing with my great aunt's passing. We got the chuck e cheese 2 month pass after having a good time with it over the summer. We go an hour or 2 before it closes since they close at 9 or 10 and most parents don't go to chuck e cheese at 7-10 at night, especially on weekdays. It's just less weird to do it at that time, especially since "that's when the weirdos come out" and one can't get too upset when "the weirdos come out." Strangely tonight, there was a 6 year old birthday party at 8:30 PM on a Thursday, not a very big party, but an official party that they got on the loud speaker saying "if you're with the party come get your pizza." Whatever.

Friday was kind of wild. We had to basically leave immediately after work because the funeral home visitation was an hour away without traffic and like 2 hours with traffic. As I was going home from work there was a train at the 2 crossings on my way home. I have 2 normal ways home, 1 through the downtown and 1 through the backroads. I normally take backroads since it tends to be less crowded, but if a train is at the crossing I'll take the downtown. Unfortunately there's also a train crossing at the downtown route, so I had to take the twice as long avoid the train route. Mskate made me a peanut butter sandwich because Friday of Lent. Mskate drove up to the visitation so I spent extra time reading my bible passages since I wouldn't be cleaning the house tonight. Read through 3 chapters of Jeremiah and all our devotions for lent in our little black book from church. The visitation was really nice. The funeral home was really big, and we got to see aunts and uncles we never see. Mskate has been scanning in photos from my grandpa's photo albums and brought some scanned photos of the aunt that passed. The relatives enjoyed seeing the old photos. Afterwards we stayed with the in laws since we were going to be close to a new thing tomorrow. IRA and I watched Cobra Kai since we both enjoy it, and I helped him get a wrestling game. Later.

3/5/25 Ash Wednesday first day of Lent

So with Lent I'm going to do work on my "big projects" every day, not necessarily a "Lenten sacrifice" since I enjoy this and it's just "don't be lazy about your ambitions," but it's like a "new years resolution" if you will since I have lots of projects I need to finish, and in these next 48 days I'm going to work on projects and get some of the big things done, and because I have this daily blog I started in college and kind of stopped using when I got a full time job with NDAs and not a whole lot else happening after that except for things worthy of full blogs, I decided I can talk about the things I doing here. With that out of the way, here's what I did after work.

So last night I watched the Presidential Congressional Address (or whatever the "not state of the union" is called), and I stayed up late to watch it. I slept in today and went right to work. I would have had one of my other paczkis but they're messy so I had toaster waffles with peanut butter since those don't make a mess and could be eaten in the car. When I got home I started my cleaning sacrefice. I don't like cleaning and I'm going to clean at least 15 minutes a day. Today I went through a pile of junk mail for 20 minutes. One chore I had to do was hard wire our printer and scanner; mskate needs to scan in things and our wifi printer is struggling to connect to the network, but it's close enough to the router that it wouldn't be unreasonable to run a cat-6 cable from the router to the printer. I went through my random computer cable box and found 2 6-foot cables that combined would probably reach the printer, and all I had to do was find my cat-6 coupler from my time in college. This wasn't in my random cable box, rather it was in my plastic shoe box container that I keep a roll of electrical tape and duct tape in under my one dresser. That description wasn't "I had to tear apart my house to find, why on earth was it there," I knew exactly where it was because I'm a cartoon character and that's just where I keep them. I was able to hard wire the printer and scan a test image, yay. For dinner mskate and I had our fasting dinner of perogies and broccoli. Later in the evening we went to ash Wednesday mass. Father talked about how he took a flower arrangement class in Japan to fulfil an art requirement or something in his homily, and how he can tell the difference between a bouquets that was assembled and arranged with purpose and a bouquet that was just just thrown in a vase. I'm going to remember that for when we have flowers in the church again at Easter and ask him for his analysis on the arrangements we have. I worked on my "fall blog" that is about my grandparents having problems, a cedar point trip, and family reunion in Evansville. I got 2 paragraphs done, and tomorrow I'll do even more. My great aunt also died, which is kind of wild. I wasn't very close with her but she always liked facebook posts I was tagged in, so there's that. The services are going to be this weekend and we'll figure out what we're doing probably tomorrow. Later.
