My Birthday Weekend with a Funeral

Pretty crazy things happening lately. First, on Thursday I had my birthday, where mskate and I went out to dinner at Culvers, and the night before we went to Chuck E Cheese for a 50% off food with a promotion with our preview of gold with bronze, where we split an app sampler. I also 100%'d Lego Star Wars 3 this week.

Friday we went up to my in-laws and spent the night because we had a funeral for my grandma figure on Saturday. I did the live stream and that was a little complicated since it was a live stream through our wedding youtube channel, and while I'm familiar with streaming I'm not super familiar with youtube's streaming page, so it took a lot of work to get working. It was a good service, the priest mentioned how she loved cooking, which she really did. Afterwards we went out to a restaurant that my grandma really liked, and after that we went to the deceased's house to handle some things (like logging her out of our Disney plus on her smart TV). Afterwards we went home because we had coffee and donuts on Sunday.

Coffee and donuts went over well. We got the donuts and put in our order for July, I brewed all the coffee and made the tang, and then we went to mass. After mass we handled all the serving. We went through the pot of regular pretty quickly, so I put out the second pot, which also went rather fast but not all the way, I put the 3rd pot out but I don't know if anyone had any. Oh well, making coffee is hard to gauge how much we'll need. Last week was the Usher's big breakfast and they had some unopened orange juice left over, so we put it out and went through a gallon of that and a pitcher of tang. We went up to my parents house area and met them at chuck e cheese for my birthday lunch. We had a #2 combo; large pizza, cheesy bread, and 2 drinks. With all our tickets we bought some prizes for mskate's easter egg fundraiser, stickers for friends for life, and spot it games for camping. Afterwards we went bowling. I got 2nd in our 1st round, and I got 1st in our 2nd round. I also had a White Russian because The Big Labowski. For my presents I got buck-ees clothes, buck-ees snacks, and franks red hot goldfish crackers. For dinner I got a happy meal in part for the fifa world cup toy, but the mcdonalds I went to was out so I got a book (no big deal, we'll throw it in with a book drive). I'm not into the world cup, but I know those toys will have resale value, and I want Dolan the Dinosaur. That night I was able to watch Sunday night FOX cartoons, because they finally had cartoons, yay.

Today we had the interment for my grandma figure. I brought my camera so I could record it for the same people who watched the live stream. It was a really good service; they put her ashes in the mausoleum, we were able to say our goodbyes, my brother said some interment prayers, I had us sing When the Saints go Marching In (one of the songs she liked to play for the sing alongs), and we said some stories. Afterwards we went to lunch at the restaurant that's close to the cemetery. I went home to do my normal things, but mskate stayed with her parents to help out more with the funeral things. I got the interment video uploaded and ready to share, which will make the family happy. Later.

Various things recently

A couple weeks ago I went to the eagle scout honor event since I'm an eagle scout and it was the American 250 birthday celebration that my mom's daughters of the revolution group did something with. They had a thing where you could get different revolution activities and one of them was "make a spinner thing," and they didn't have heavy enough wood wheels for the spinners to really spin, so I shared that knowledge with them and they thought it was cool. The event was at a park thing with an old car museum, which was pretty fun. They also had Captain America walking around, so I got a picture with him. Later in the evening was the Eagle charge, and they invited all past Eagles to stand and recite the charge, and it was really cool being the "and if you also achieved this in the past, stand and be recognized as well."

It was also Mother's Day, first one without my grandma and just with my grandma figure, but she's not doing well and has an aneurism that we're just kind of waiting for it to pop. That was kind of sad. We went to Red Lobster which was pretty good for everyone. Also, that morning we were responsible for coffee and donuts that week at church, so that was pretty good.

This weekend I went to my in-laws to try to sell some stuff at their garage sale. I had a bunch of tchotchkes and happy meal toys to sell, and I was able to sell some big things which freed up some good space in my storage area. I got $13.50, and just spent the day getting caught up on some TV shows. Today I went to church and did some VHS converting, and getting stuff put back on the shelves, and put the easy up stuff back away. I also went to a pharmacy that was going out of business and bought a bunch of stuff, and sorting that out also used up a bunch of energy.

Oh, and my wife didn't properly close a bottle of body wash when she put it in the closet, and it made quite a mess. I've been spending the past week cleaning it up, basically just rinsing the soap off of everything and smelling like a Disney princess since it was Disney princess bath and bodyworks soap. Later.

4/10-12/26

This was a surprisingly full weekend. Friday my aunt asked me if I wanted to go to a comedy show she was going to. She bought 3 tickets (1 for her, 1 for my mom, 1 for my dad), but then thought the transaction didn't go through so she bought 3 more. Turns out though that the transaction did go through and now she had 6 tickets. I said "sure, I like stand-up," and he was quite funny. It was Zoltan Kaszas and a guy who sells shirts that say "a comedian can live off selling 4 shirts." I didn't sit with the group, and I could see everything, but my family couldn't. There was a really funny thing with the opening act, he was telling a one liner and the microphone stand fell and you couldn't hear the punch line well. He did a good job playing it off.

Saturday was pretty fun as well. Mskate saw that our theater was playing ET for a rerelease, and we were going to go to the 11AM show, but then there was only an 11AM show on Sunday so we went to the 7PM show later that evening. After realizing the mistake with the movie we went to BJs to get gas and some drinks. For dinner we went to Applebee's on a whim. We did 2 for 25 with the upcharge foods, ribs for me and salmon for her, and mozzerella sticks for the appetizer. The movie was fun, it's a good movie. I would link the review memory that I did when I saw it at the drive in, but I guess I didn't upload that one yet. Mskate hadn't seen it, so she was really happy to see where all the references and music comes from.

Sunday was pretty good. We were in charge of coffee and donuts this week, so that was good. We picked up the donuts and got them all set-up. Then at mass they forgot us in the back for communion, so that was kind of funny. After mass we did some grocery shopping of our own, and got a lot of sales stuff. For dinner I made us an Asian inspired noodle dish. It's rice noodles, soy sauce, onion, steak, and bell peppers; I don't know if this is anything real, but it sure tastes good. I had Sunday Night cartoons again now that The Faithful is finished (of which you can read my review here). Later

2/21/26

This was a fun day. We went to see mskate's best friend and her husband. We went out to lunch at a restaurant that was recommended. It was an Italian place, I had a ruben and pizza, mskate had spinich pasta, and her friends had pizza. It was fun just hanging out with them. We all got along really well. Afterwards we went to see "I Can Only Imagine 2." It was a good movie. I made a small review of it. After that we went to a chuck e cheese in the area. It was really cool, they still had the original pizza time animatronics, they weren't doing the show but they were still out. I made a video of it. They also had some kind of video whack a mole game that was Japanese. Really fun day. Later.

12/5-7/25

This was pretty fun. On Friday my city had it's tree lighting ceremony down by city hall. We live pretty close to city hall so we walked down to the event. While we were walking there we saw a car accident happen, which was kind of wild since it was right in front of police setting up the parade. They do a little parade with city vehicles and the marching band. It's cool, there's the police, the fire department, utility truck, and some other vehicles. Santa was riding in on a fire truck. We got some glow sticks, which was fun. Santa then got the key to the city and lit the tree, and then there's a little firework display. There was also a little reindeer exhibit, and a little Christmas knickknack store. Good little time.

Saturday we went to a gymnastics event. I went to Blimpy Burger and got my burger, and it was good once again. Afterwards we walked to the M-den where mskate bought a new shirt. It was an 11 minute walk from Blimpy Burger, so we were kind of quick. The meet was pretty good, it was an inner group meet where team blue was against team maze. Lot's of fun. When they were giving out t-shirts I did my foot technique and I got one, and then mskate got one. Lot's of fun.

Sunday was a good day, just hanging out at home. Later.

9/12-14/25

Friday was really fun, I went to Cedar Point with my mom for our annual amusement park trip. I'll be working on getting that out within the week. Saturday was kind of simple, mostly driving home, and then that evening I sold tickets for my church's Octoberfest raffle. Sunday I did coffee and donuts and went to mass. Mskate sold tickets before and after both masses. In light of the recent church shootings and Charlie Kirk assassination, I've started bringing a baseball bat to church in case things go south. According to mskate, there was a crazy woman disrupting the homily and going to the priest at the 11AM mass that one of the off duty cop parishioners got her out of the building, and if she was at the 9AM mass I might have been stepping in instead brandishing my baseball bat and forcing the individual out. After mass I filmed a couple of catholiccontriversy videos that I plan on uploading this week. I fried up 3 pounds of bacon, and went to chuck e cheese, and filled up on gas and bought ground beef to make stuffed peppers. They turned out good. Now I'm watching a new episode of Doc and later will watch The Great North. I've been pretty shaken by the Charlie Kirk assassination; not as much as other commentators, but I've been basically listening to nothing but coverage of the case which is pretty wile. Later.

8/30/25-9/1/25 & 9/6/25-9/7/25

Sorry, got a little busy last weekend and didn't write it. Friday night I went to see Jaws 50th Anniversary rerelease at the drive in, with Blues Brothers as the 2nd feature. Saturday was really fun. We went up to see PepperBC and her family, and meet her boyfriend, who if he stays around will be PepperAD since he is basically "gender swapped PepperBC." It was really fun, mskate and I got to the restaurant first and while we waited I played club kino, and won $2 on a $1 bet, yay. Everyone showed up kind of at the same time, and we had lots of fun getting to know him a little, and not try to scare him off since our family can be a little intense. After the restaurant we walked around the downtown a little, going to the new arcade and playing some games. I played an Elvira pinball game and it kept glitching and giving me free games, so while the buy in was on the expensive side ($1 instead of 50 cents like back in the day), but I played like 3 times and got high scores and put my name on the leader board. I also played Ms. Pacman on a cocktail table; I thought it was a multi-cabinet since the table top had multiple games displayed, but it was just Ms. Pacman. It's not exactly a bad thing, I like Ms. Pacman, but I have a Ms. Pacman cocktail table at home (and I'm not talking 1UP, I have a real coin-op commercial arcade cabinet of Ms. Pacman and Galliga 35th Anniversary). After the arcade we went to the candy store and got some bulk candy, and I didn't realize that the candy was price separated so I had to sort it afterwards. After the candy store we hung out at my aunt and uncle's apartment. Sunday was pretty tame, we sold raffle tickets for our church's Octoberfest celebration. Afterwards we went and saw the accordion friend and helped her with some things around the house, mainly getting her phone set-up since it had some problems.

Now for this weekend. Saturday was pretty fun. We went to a birthday party for our friend's 7 year old daughter. It was pretty good that we went, because I brought my balloon animal stuff and the dad didn't plan party activities, so all the kids made fun with the dogs and swords I made them. I'm pretty good with balloon animals, but not a big balloon artist that can do all sorts of things; I can do dogs, cats, rabbits, giraffes, swords, and giraffe hats, but that's kind of it. One kid asked me for a turtle, and I'm like "uhhhh, OK, let's see, a turtle is an oval, with a little hump in the shell, with a tail, here we go, your imagination can believe this is a turtle, right?" He said yes. Then another kid wanted a polar bear, I couldn't think of how to make a polar bear. I offered all the other things he could have but he wanted a polar bear, and then got sad that I couldn't make him a polar bear. His mom then worked with him and he wanted a turtle too; ok my second ever turtle. The presents were fun, lots of Stitch stuff that we missed the memo on. We got her a paint by stickers book that got her excited, and a water game where you try to get the balls in the buckets. Unfortunately it was leaking so we had to get a replacement. Sunday we went to mass and mskate was selling raffle tickets. Ever since the Minneapolis shooting I've been bringing my self defense bat to church, and the ushers asked me what I was up to (not aggressively, they know me and that I wouldn't cause problems, but just like "hey bro, what crazy thing are you doing now"), and they appreciated my willingness to protect the congregation. After mass mizorlover and I went to chuck e cheese for his birthday celebration. We got a pizza and played the games, and did really well on the Jurassic Park game, and with all the tickets we had I got a hello kitty hot dog stuffed animal for mskate. I also started a little packing for our upcoming Disneyland trip, mostly getting the food packed and some clothing. I also uploaded my video on Carlo Acutis and my own connection to the Eucharist. I also got my vlog of universal studios uploaded. Later.

8/24/25

Today was pretty good. I went to church yesterday so I stayed up a little later than normal and slept longer than normal. I watched some TV and waited for mskate to get home. I cleaned her cpap equipment while she went to mass. I also went through some junk mail and one of the things was a free lottery ticket with the state lottery, so I walked down to a gas station at the corner and they weren't able to do the promotion, so I walked to another gas station where I was able to get my ticket. It was an hourly drawing so I walked to the gas station to see if I won, I didn't. Oh well. After mass and some resting mskate and I went to a local laser tag place since they had a free laser tag promotion today. On our way there we stopped at A&W since we had coupons. Mskate had a root beer float and I had 2 double cheese burgers. At laser tag we got our free laser tag tickets and got a $10 play card for $7. The fun thing with the laser tag is all the vests were given the names of Smash Bros characters. I got what I thought was Isabel but it ended up being Palutena. Oh well. I ended up getting 2nd place best player that match because I'm just really good at laser tag. Afterwards we played some arcade games, mskate played connect 4, I played a skeeball bowling game (where I got 2 strikes and played 2 bonus rounds and got 82 tickets), a piano game, and a centipede game. We didn't get any prizes this time, but do have a little over 1000 tickets so next time we can maybe get something. Afterwards we went to chuck-e-cheese to use our daily 40 points where I played skeeball, dunk the clowns, subway surfer, and this hop game that I'm really good at and got 3 jackpots. I think I got over 300 tickets this time, and that's not exactly easy. Afterwards we got 3 plastic rings for the easter egg fund raiser and a sticker sheet for friends for life. Later in the evening I made a baked potato and a porkchop for me and a sausage for her. I then ended with watching Bobs Burgers on Adult Swim since there wasn't animation domination on FOX tonight. Later.

8/20-22/25

Lots of things happening but also not much. On Wednesday I went to Chuck E Cheese and had Wendy's beforehand. Then I went on a rosary cruise with my church. My mom and aunt joined me, so that was fun. Everyone asked where mskate was since she wasn't there, and I let them know she was at a skating thing. Thursday was pretty good. I went to Chuck E Cheese and then enjoyed a quiet night in watching some TV. Friday was pretty great. Normally now I'm supposed to have a meeting at 3PM until 3:30 PM, but it was canceled and my boss let me go home at 2, which was great. Before it got too late I went skateboarding, and I haven't been able to do that much this summer. I went to Chuck E Cheese and found that I can get over 100 tickets a trip if I play certain games that I can go pretty consistently at 6-10 a game, and at 40 games a day I can get 240-400 a day. Later that night I did some cleaning, going through mskate's expired medical supplies and disposing of it. I also found my Kwik-E-Mart pin and Universal Studios penny book, so that's great. Some time next week I think I'll wear my pin to work since it's a nametag with my name on it. Now I'm just watching TV and trying to clean out my DVR. Later.

8/15-18/25

Decided to cover everything I've been doing last weekend. On Friday the wife and I went to the drive in to watch Freakier Friday after going to mass for the assumption of Mary. It was a pretty good sequel, I'll be uploading that at some point. On Saturday I finished my Disney summer blog and watched TV, I also got all my images from Disney uploaded to my shutter stock, some of which are available for purchase. It's not exactly something I'm trying very seriously, but I enjoy taking photos and it's cool being able to do something with them. I think I also paid off all the credit cards and transferred to my savings. Mskate and I also went to BJs and got ribs, 2 slabs. I made my rib brine, vinegar and apple juice with a little bit of "not made in china" sauce and let them soak. We also checked out a new entertainment center that just opened up, and while it is a pretty cool place it's really loud (like you have to yell in your party's ear so they can hear you) and the prices were outrageous (like $1.50 per game), so we don't think we'll go there very often. That evening we had 1 of the slabs of ribs. Sunday we went to mass and mskate had a catechism open house afterwards. In the afternoon we went to Chuck E Cheese and bought our 2 month pass. This time the 2 month pass was successfully added to our account. Our CEC changed things up, they made a section that is all rides and a play place (no longer trampoline zone), and then all the games were in the other section. They also got rid of the simpsons soccer game, coin pusher (that regularly broke down), and the roller coaster simulator (that's now just a small thing). They also got some other prizes, which is good since we do an easter egg fund raiser and need prizes, and low value chuck e cheese prizes are good egg fillers. Since FOX had some sports thing they didn't have cartoons, so I watched adult swim instead. I also had half a slab of ribs that were brining for a day, which tasted pretty good. Monday we went to Chuck E Cheese again, and made the last of the ribs. An annoying thing though is half of the ribs didn't cook all the way through, so I had to cook them in the oven. Now I'm getting some stuff on TV caught up. Later.

6/20/25

Kind of weird day at work, a lot of people took a 2nd vacation day after Juneteenth, so it was kind of empty. I finished my cruise blog, so be sure to check it out. Funny thing, I have some clips that I wanted to use but they had copyrighted music, so I uploaded them to the meme site I use and used that as my video host. The quality is a little crunchy due to being compressed to less than 10 mb, but the main thing is the audio. I'm watching King of the Hill getting ready for the revival. Gotta get packed for a big trip. Now I'm just hanging out. Later.

6/19/25 Juneteenth

Today was a kind of basic day off. My work recognizes the day northern Republicans told southern Democrats "no more slaves" as a holiday for time off, which was nice. I spent most of the day putting media in my cruise blog and uploading the stock video. It's not quite ready for public consumption, but if you're reading this you probably know my other blogs, so if you want to find them early you can. Mskate and I went to see Elio, and it was a pretty good movie. I hope to get my blog done by the weekend. I decided I'm going to watch all of King of the Hill before the revival, so I watched some episodes of that today too. Later.

Saturday, June 14, 2025

6/13-14/25

So yesterday was pretty calm. Mskate was with her parents because she was helping my side of the family. I had a stuffed pepper for dinner, and did a twitch stream after having not done one in a long time. I think I'll try to do more streams since I always get more twitter follows when do that. The big thing is that at night I went to the drive in theater and saw How To Train Your Dragon 2025 and ET The Extra Terrestrial. I was going to upload the review, but I got distracted and didn't. I got home around 2AM and I basically fell right to sleep, which was OK because I went to the movie in my pajamas like a lot of people who go to the drive in.

On Saturday I intended to do some activities, but I got the day started so late that it just kind of got away from me. I did get some online banking done, reimbursing myself for many different medical expenses from my HSA. I went to church today since it we're going to go to my parents tomorrow for my birthday and father's day. We also went to the grocery store and got some balloons for my dad and father-in-law. Something kind of a sign, I have really tall ceilings and like to release balloons into the ceiling whenever I get them, and we have balloons from my grandma's funeral up there right now. One of them was coming down and was floating around the condo. While we were in church it floated into our bedroom (I release them in the living room), and after it went back out into the living room it came back to the bedroom with the door closed. My grandma wants to be with us tonight. Later.

6/9/25

Today was kind of low key. After work I recorded the end card for my review of Lilo and Stitch 2025 (since I only recorded the review the night of). I also got it posted. Mskate and I had left over pizza from my birthday celebration with her family, and then I processed the remainder of the pizza for freezing. I also processed some of the meats we bought yesterday, the bratwursts and pork chops. Tomorrow I'll process the beef steaks and cook the shrimp. I then did a lot of writing for my cruise blog. I wrote the monkey excursion, the Belize excursion, and the first day where we shipped off. I still have our first day at sea, the evening activities after our port days, our 2 last days at sea, and coming home. In terms of "actual writing," I think I'm about 40%-50% of the way done, and then I don't know how much I have left for inputting pictures and video. I also got some of our packing for Friends for Life done, so there's that. Now I'm just watching Mashable Magic and Muscles, which will be my next toonami review. Later.

4/13/25

Today was a semi-emotional day. It was Palm Sunday and our day to do coffee and donuts. Palm Sunday was my favorite church holiday as a kid because it meant I got a "toy" during mass (the palm). Even as an adult I hold onto the palm the entire mass. Mskate and I got the donuts and set-up things before mass. Our church maintenance guy likes to help out I didn't recognize him at first after he got a major hair cut. After mass when we did the coffee and donuts it was super busy, we went through 2 pitchers of tang (normally we barely make it through 1), 2.5 pots of regular coffee (normally it's 1.5-1.75), and we went through almost all the donuts (normally there's half a dozen to one dozen left), and I had to do a lot of running around. I told our priest about how much I like Palm Sunday and why I like it, and he chuckled. After mass mskate and I went to Meijer to get a baby shirt for our "forever memory" build a bear to send with my grandma in her casket. We got a baby swim shirt and mskate made a cricut design for the shirt shirt like what my grandma would wear when I was a kid (it says "this grandma belongs to" on the front and then her 3 grandsons and the 2 wives on the back). Then I straightened my videogame room/storage room while also looking for some hair clips that mskate wants the bear to wear (which I did find). It's a very nice final gift now. Now I'm watching Animation Domination. Good Sunday. Later.

4/12/25, a special Easter day

Today was a very big day. I've talked about my grandma on hospice a lot, and today was our big Easter party for her. Originally we were going to do a party in one of the party rooms, but she can't leave her bed now, so we did the party in her studio apartment. We had my family, pepperBC's family, her best friends, and some old neighbors. We had pizza and accordion sing alongs. She can't really stay alert much anymore, spending most of her time with her eyes closed and head drifting over to the side, but today she held her head up a lot and/or opened her eyes, and said a couple of things to her best friend. After the party mskate and I went to the mall and we made a build a bear for her to take in her casket. We made a little message that plays when you press the paw, a modification of the same thing I said in the first build a bear I made for her over 20 years ago, but with mskate saying it with me. It's very meaningful for us since she really liked build a bear, always liking to dress it up in different outfits over the years. Making "the final build a bear" was very emotional, but it was a good thing. We also saw the Easter Bunny, and since mskate worked for Santa at Christmas and it's the same people who run Santa we were able to do it for a majorly discounted price (the manager said "this is [mskate], she can donate if she wants but we'll hook her up for free." Afterwards we got a free Rocky Mountain Chocolate cookie or Hagandas ice cream. I got the cookie and mskate got the ice cream. When I got home I saw a community post from yuriofwind (a creator I've followed for 10+ years and got some inspiration from in how I make videos) talking about his health problems and how it is probably the end, and so I made a tribute video to him. I didn't really realize how much influence he had on my videos until I saw that post. I tagged him on twitter and blue sky and hope he sees it. I was going to write a blog about the Easter party today, but it was too emotional and I was tired so I'll do it tomorrow. Later.

Friday, April 11, 2025

4/8-11/25

Things happened and didn't. Mskate stayed with her parents for some days while she watched my grandma and filled Easter eggs for a fundraiser she's doing, which meant that I was home alone. I made my cheapskate chili and had that Monday-Thursday. I went to Chuck E Cheese a couple of times and played the Halo arcade game they have. One night I played through 5 of the 6 levels and had a kid join in as player 2. Unfortunately I didn't get past the scarab in the final level before I ran out of credits on my card, so I had to go home afterwards. On another day I did "level select" and just played the final mission. One of the employees had a Freddy Fazbear pin on her lanyard, and I commented on how it's ironic to be wearing Freddy at Chuck E Cheese. I finally got my October blog done. I also found a new place to post to, subnano. They don't host videos, but the guy who made it set it up so I can embed videos, so I'm going to embed my rumble links. He posted about it on reddit and I found the post, and he said "I added the feature early because you asked for it." It's big thing is that you can do "pay per post," and I plan on using it as a way to tip my videos (video will always be free, but there will be an option to unlock a thank-you for the tip).

Tomorrow is going to be my grandma's last holiday since she's on serious hospice. We got some things packed up and prepared to have a good final celebration. I'll give details tomorrow. I also put smashed pennies in one of my penny books. Now I need to do a little extra cleaning. Later.

4/7/25

Well things are super busy in my world. This morning I started a pot of chili and had that for dinner. I got my Ann Arbor Big 10 Gymnastics blog written, which was quite a lot. I also started organizing my smashed pennies, and need to find my Disney 100 book to put the Disney 100 pennies in it. I also watched an episode of 7th Heaven with mskate since she watched it in her youth but I didn't, and it's available with paramount plus. I also watched an episode of The Rookie. Also, Stop Skeletons from Fighting finally put together and uploaded his 16 player Faceball 2000 video and investigation, and reminds me that I need to get a video I'm working on done with a similar "I have a question that no one seems to have answered, and after scowering the internet I found an answer with a pretty crazy journey." Later.

Tuesday, April 1, 2025

4/1/25

Happy April Fools Day I guess. If things weren't so crazy in my life I might have worn my morph suit to work for the morning meeting, but I didn't. Mskate made it back after being with her parents for a while. I cleaned out under the coffee table and that was a lot of stuff. I wrote a lot of my October blog, so I will get that done soon. I watched St. Denis Medical, The Neighborhood, Night Court, and Shifting Gears, as well as an episode of The Rookie and Ninja Kamui. Getting tired. Later.

3/29-30/25

This weekend was a busy day followed by a calm day. Saturday was a day of out and doing things. With my dad starting to feel better and being a big Looney Tunes fan I had the great idea to go see The Day the Earth Blew Up with him before going to see my grandma and maybe going out to Chuck E Cheese with some family, and Mom was going to take the 2 hours it would take to see Looney Tunes as a time to just take a big break. However, Dad was having some problems and wasn't able to go to the movies with me. In the alternative Mom and I went to Chuck E Cheese and had a stuffed crust pizza with ham, pepperoni, and pineapple using the 50% off coupon my bronze membership gave me this week. She enjoyed it, and the price was good considering this would have been $30 without the coupon. While we were there we also played games. I played the spongebob coin pusher and unfortunately didn't really win. We played skiball and was fun. We played wheel of fortune and found someone left 13 credits on the machine, so we just kept playing double play over and over again, and one game we won 51 tickets after getting 1000 points and picking a letter that had 4 instances, and later picking the right word. I also played the Pink Panther escape game and I was able to win twice, 50 tickets each time. We also rode the ride simulator thing, which was a great use of the points since it's a nice little ride simulator for like 5 minutes and it only costs 1 point. I also used 320 of our tickets on trinkets for Easter egg prizes (mskate is doing a fund raiser where we set-up an Easter egg hunt for people in their front yard the night before for a fee). After about 1.5 hours at chuck e cheese we went to my grandma's memory care facility and watched Out of the Box on Disney Plus while we fed her dinner. Out of the Box was a great choice since she likes to watch shows with kids and it's a show that's just kids playing pretend. After about 2 hours with her I went to mskate's parents and watched some figure skaters since it's the world championship going on right now and her family likes figure skating whereas I'm indifferent. After that I just went home.

Today was a very calm day. I went to church and that was kind of it for the day. After mass I dug out the Donald Duck Numeo we got for my grandma for her birthday, we're going to give it to her now since she likes her "babies" (stuffed animals, particularly little Disney Numeo guys) and we don't know how much longer she has left. I cleaned up some things, throwing out some garbage, collecting expired medicine to take to a collection site, and made some individual servings of snack foods for lunch. I also made one of my animal crossing lego sets. I also spent most of the day watching Tiger and Bunny, an interesting anime series a friend recommended to me 10+ years ago in college that has been sitting in my backlog since and with it leaving hulu at the end of the month I decided to try to watch it before it leaves. I'll make a review of it once I finish it since I only have 3 episodes left and 1 day left. I also finished writing my blog about my Big 10 Women's Gymnastics adventure, and bought the hotel for next weekend when we're going to the Big 10 Men's Gymnastics finals, and made sure all our bills were fully paid. Later.
