8/18/14

So today was kind of interesting. My brother and I went to A&W for lunch and just kind of hung out. I put more of my PS2 games into the bins I had, and I filled that bin as well. Now I have maybe 80 games that aren't in a bin because I ran out of bins. I have about 300 PS2 games and about 300 other games. I have a crazy large collection, and I will never run out of lets play material. I went to the eye doctor today, which means going to the awesome mall. Brought my 3DS and street passed 15 people. Yay. Unfortunately they got rid of 2 of the stores I really liked; the cool toy store and the flea market store. Luckily, the import shop was still there, and so was the gamestop and best buy, but most importantly the import shop. In fact, at the import shop, I found a special Jynx figure, a gen 1 pre-controversy figure. You can read about it at bitlanders. At gamestop I found a cool charging dock for my 3DS, and only $2. Yay. I tested it and it works. Not sure where I'll use it, but I might set it up with my spare charger and put it next to my TV or something.

At best buy I demoed some of those curved TVs. One of them was a 4K OLED curved TV. That looked pretty amazing. With one of the curved TV demos, I like that they had a flat TV of the same size playing the exact same demo right below the curved one for comparison. Same specs, same demo, same brand, just one curved and one flat. How was it, eh, it's pretty cool I guess. I did feel a little more immersed into the content with the curved TV since it gives you more of that "curved peripheral" thing, but it's not a feature I'd spend a lot of money on. I also saw that they had complete seasons of 1980s TMNT for sale for $5 each. I checked the online price to see if it was an in store sale or if it was just the price of the DVDs. Turns out it's the same price online as in store, and since I get cash back through swagbucks with best buy and other online store purchases, I opted to just buy online. Sign up for swagbucks here. Today was the second day that we were at my grandparents. We left around 10 AM. We stopped at Tractor Supply Co., an farm and similar store. It's where I get my safety vests and other safety clothing. Dad was looking for a small submersible water pump since we just dealt with minor flooding in our basement. He didn't find one that was reasonable priced. I was hoping to find some chicks or ducklings, since they occasionally have live baby chickens and ducks for sale, just sitting in the middle of the store. I live in the suburbs and can't have one, but it's fun to see them. We then stopped at the wal-mart to see if they had my cargo jeans. They didn't unfortunately.

I finished writing my Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles review, read here. Then because I wanted to write another review for another TMNT movie, so I wrote one for BitLanders about Turtles Forever, read here. Then because I was just in a blogging mood, I wrote a blog about chocolate milk. I'm not entirely sure why, but here's where you can read it.

We finished taking care of the water in the basement. We ripped up even more carpet. We might as well get rid of all of it at this point. Oh well. Now my cave is full of stuff again. Now if you excuse me, I have 2013 turtles to watch. Later.

8/16/14

Today was pretty good. I went to visit my grandparents up north. It's great to see them again. We visited and went to church. After dinner my brother and I went to see the new Michael Bay Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or as my other grandparents say "ningin turtles." I'm going to make a full review probably tomorrow, or tonight if I get to it. As a teaser, it's not the worst version of the turtles I've seen. Later.

8/15/14

Today was OK. We had some flooding a couple days ago, no major damage. I found more water today, this time over in my nerd cave. Some water damage to a couple of boxes, but nothing I'm to worried about. We cut up the carpet and now there's an empty spot. We had a parade of classic cars tonight. I'm not a major classic car fan, but I do enjoy seeing all the old cars, many of which I build snap together models of, so it's fun to see the full size version that actually works. I also see them in old movies, so that's fun to see them in real life. Well I went to the basement to check on some other parts of the basement. Unfortunately I found more water. Damn. Oh well. I also stepped on a nail today. That wasn't fun. Luckily it got caught in the super callus I have on my foot (didn't draw blood) and my last tetanus shot was less than 10 years ago. Later.

8/14/14

Wow, it's been a while since I posted here. Well I was working on proprietary projects. But I also ended that internship last week, so yeah, I was just lazy this past week. Today was pretty fun. I hung out with ZeldaMaster93 for most of the day. We filmed a lets play, we watched a movie called "Asian School Girls," very weird B-movie. Basically it's an etchi anime movie that's live action, in physics and fan service. We also watched RWBY. It was good. I watched episodes of Hikaru No Go. I've had that show in my queue for 7 years, it's about time I watch it. I ran some virus scans on the family computer. So far I found over 1000 viruses. I'm about to check on the current scans. Later.

7/27/14

Wow it's been a while. Sorry guys. Well today was pretty good. I went to the movies with my grandpa and we went to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. It was pretty good, up until the power went out. Oh well. After that I went to my grandparents house, cleaned their hamster's cage, and fixed my grandpa's TV. Today was my good friend mskate's 21st birthday. I would have taken her out somewhere, but she was busy with her family. We're going out next Saturday. Now I'm catching up on my toonami backlog. Finished black lagoon, watched some blue exorcist, and now I'm catching up on Space Dandy. Later.

7/4/14, Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July everyone. In 1776, the founding fathers signed the declaration of independence. A day of remembering freedom and what makes America great; like fireworks a Chinese invention, and hotdogs an American variation on the European sausage, and hamburgers, a dish taken from Hamburg Germany but made awesome by Americans. Yeah, we didn't invent them, but we made them awesome, except for the fireworks. I give China credit for that.

Anyways, today was fun. I went to see my grandparents and aunt and uncle on my dad's side. My parents had to roll me out of bed and into the car because I work such late shifts and sleep through the day. I then slept in the car on the way there and some time after. I visited with everyone and it was lots of fun. My grandparent's community was having a craft show so we all went there as something to do. There wasn't much, the only noteworthy thing was the presumably closed down video store that was trying to sell off it's inventory and the petting zoo. They had little baby ducks and rabbits along with the usual goats and llamas and chickens. If you went into the duck or rabbit pen, you could pick up a duck or rabbit. I didn't because I was eating nachos at the time, but that would have been cool. I jokingly asked my mom "so does that mean I can pick up a goat so long as I'm in the pen?" Yeah I'm a jokester.

After a nice time with my relatives, I went to the fireworks display with mbinski. The place was packed, no parking anywhere. Luckily for me, mskate lives close to where they light them off. I just drove over and asked her dad if I could park in their drive way, no previous plans were made. Since I'm good friends with them, he said sure, go ahead, no problem. Since I was there, I got to meet their new puppy. She's a cute little thing. I asked if their other dog was getting along with the new dog, and they said he was.

After some visiting, I walked over to the display ground and met up with mbinski. I haven't seen him all summer because we've both been super busy. It was great to catch up with him. I told him I still want to try to fix that XBOX360 my other friend gave me with him since he's a bit of a computer guy. We also engaged in our usual nonsensical conversations where we talk nonsense and it somehow makes sense to us. The fireworks were fun. Someone was playing a medley of patriotic songs as the fireworks went off, and that was an experience. Like, IRL background music. Then there were these kids that kept saying "I like that one, I like that one, I like that one..." One point just to be funny I said "I like that one." It got a laugh.

After the show I went back to mskate to get my car and drive home. I originally just intended to thank them for letting me park in their drive way and wish them a happy 4th of July, but it ended up evolving into a 20 minute conversation with her family about life. It was kind of funny, mskate kept saying "bye thanks for stopping by," but then her dad would get me into another topic. What can I say, the man likes to talk to me. Later. And in honor of independence day, I would like to share this little observational comedy joke.
